Subject: Aikido-L Seminar Review [0/4]
Hi everyone,
I finally got some free time to be able to write up some of my
experiences about the 1999 Aikido-L Seminar.
This was the second Aikido-L Seminar that I've been able to help
organize and attend myself. Frankly, every minute of time and every
ounce of effort that I was able to put into it were well worth it. I
urge people to go ahead and hold their own Aikido-L Mini-Seminars in
their own parts of the country. Trust me -- it'll be worth it, too.
Last year's seminar in San Antonio, I believe, was a great success in
bringing together a lot of familiar names together, face to face for
the first time for pretty much all of the participants. For years, we
had read each other's messages, talked about various aspects of
aikido, bickered over some, agreed over others, and generally gotten
to know each other in one way or another. Finally, we were all able
to gather in one room to train, sweat, and, most importantly perhaps,
laugh together.
This year was a bit different, of course. A lot of people who already
knew each other reattended, so it was a reunion of sorts. In a way, I
interact with people on this List far more often than those at my home
dojo. There were, of course, a lot of people who hadn't attended last
year's Seminar, so there were plenty of fresh faces, too.
There was, however, no lack of laughter and fun over the weekend.
