Now *THAT* was a lot of fun. I wish I could have trained with everyone
there!
Highlights:
Being called up as uke for George Simcox, both at his regular Friday-night
class and during the seminar. Wow. You and your students are great fun to
work with.
Doing kokyu dosa with Carol Shifflett at the end of Jim's class. Which
translates to not doing suwariwasa morote dori tenchi nage :-) Trying to
move Carol was like trying to move the entire building. And she's
exceptionally nice, too.
Training with Joel Zimba in Alan's class (I think it was Alan's class -
maybe it was Jim's). Joel, you have incredible body memory - I hope one day
I can learn that quickly.
Alan being an angel, and Philip being a devil, all in the same evening.
Jim Baker taking my balance one joint at a time - "this is your wrist, this
is your elbow, shoulder, spine, knee" - and my feeling it all the way.
Monica and I propping each other up while laughing, after trying to do the
donald duck sounds correctly.
Berserk jiyuwaza with Wendy - "hey, that was 5" "I was just checking your
zanshin"
The furby, performing appropriately and on cue.
Hanging out with all the folks I hung out with. There is not a one in the
group with whom I would not gladly spend hours and hours.
And, of course, not ending up being nikkyo-boy.
Thanks to all for the great time!
-Dave
